Job Summary (30 words): Orders, replenishes, and merchandises produce and participates in regional programs for purchasing and promotions.Job Responsibilities:

• Purchasing and Replenishment: Purchase and replenish produce through proper buying procedures.
• Inventory Control: Monitor and act upon open PO reports for purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner.
• Spoilage and Shrink: Control spoilage and shrink, achieve turn goals, and participate in inventory.
• Sampling and Temperature: Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Merchandising: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking and merchandising products.
• Ordering: Ensure orders for product are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
• Customer Special Orders: Oversee customer special order procedure.
• Product Transfers: Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage.
• Leadership Support: Support leadership in conducting inventories.
• Financial Profitability: Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.
• Timekeeping: Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Sales Potential: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Procedures Compliance: Follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Cleanliness: Maintain, or ensure maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
• Opening, Mid, and Closing Duties:
• Reporting Safety Hazards: Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
• Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.Job Skills:
  • Produce Knowledge: Extensive produce product knowledge, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends.
  • Product Familiarity: Familiarity and/or willingness to learn about products, nutritional information, and other areas of study.

    • 12+ Months Retail Experience: 12+ months retail experience.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
      • Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
      • Standing/Walking: In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
      • Hand Use: Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
      • Motions: Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
      • Cleaning Chemicals: Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
      • Temperatures: Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
      • Wet and Dry Conditions: Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
      • Flexible Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
      • Equipment Use: Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
