We partner with our Nurses at Research Medical Center!Job Summary and QualificationsUnder the general direction of the Director, Manager or Nurse Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice and the generic and unit structure standards.What you will do in this role: You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols. --- You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. --- You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN's scope of practice and in accordance with established policies. --- You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient / family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice. --- You may also provide the following specialized care: --- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration and management, including investigational protocols --- Transfusion of blood, platelets and fresh frozen plasma --- Management of patients with radiation implants, central venous access devices and spinal drains --- Bone marrow biopsy and aspiration --- Thoracentesis and paracentesis --- Epidural and intrathecal analgesiaWhat qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider, or ONS Chemo / Biotherapy Fundamentals Provider must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date is a 585+ bed hospital.
