Job SummaryWhole Foods Market is seeking a skilled Bakery Cake Decorator to join our team. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for creating and decorating cakes, tarts, and other bakery items to meet our high standards of quality and presentation.About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a talented and detail-oriented individual to showcase their artistic skills and contribute to the success of our bakery team. In this role, you will work closely with our team to design and create cakes and other bakery items for special occasions and events, as well as for daily sales. As a Bakery Cake Decorator, you will be expected to maintain a clean and organized workspace, follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, and adhere to our company's high standards of quality and customer service.Key Responsibilities

• Design and create cakes, tarts, and other bakery items for special occasions and events, as well as for daily sales.
• Decorate cakes and other bakery items to meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Work closely with our team to meet business demand and ensure the timely completion of tasks.
• Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.Requirements
  • Minimum of 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience.
  • Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail, preferred.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
    • In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
    • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
    • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
    • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
    • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
    • May require use of ladders.
